Chapter 12 - Saeko the counsellor

Estimated reading time: ±5 minutes

The only thing Drake will complain about is that we can't rob the bank I set up the accounts at.

Drake comes in and introduces me to three banks, all can be easily robbed, but some a little better equipped than the other about guards and cameras. I sigh and look at the info and plan we have.

Saeko: You're telling me you can't choose, right?
Drake: Pretty much yes.
Saeko: Well well, this one, her and then this one...
Drake: Why that one?
Saeko: I don't know, I don't care, I just want to fight and kill people.
Drake: Hm, I see, you don't enjoy training with me anymore?
Saeko: You're too slow~
Drake: Screw you.

He smiles, he keeps looking at me like he's frustrated or angry, it's annoying. Ray comes into the room, he was wearing the style I recommended, he looks cooler that way.

Ray: What do you lovebirds do?
Drake: It's none of your business, and what do you do when you're not practicing, you still can't keep a connection without having a contact.
Ray: Oh yeah, that's right.

A beautiful young woman walks into the room. I'm on my guard.

Saeko: Who are you? How did you find out about this place?
Ray: Do you want to get that, beautiful?
Girl: Ray brought me here, I am under his control.
Drake: Um, I take that back, how long can you keep her?
Ray: About 30 minutes, why?

Drake turns to me and smiles stupidly.

Saeko: What about Drake?
Drake: He's going to be able to make this easy for us.
Saeko: We don't know if he can handle the pressure...
What? What pressure? What pressure?
Saeko: We are going to rob banks soon and you can help us.
Ray: I'm in!

He turns to the girl and she turns back to leave. We all watch her leave.

Saeko: She won't remember, hm?
Ray: None, like the ones I normally come in contact with.
Drake: That's perfect, so you can only control one person at a time?
Ray: I think so.

I'm smiling a little bit, he's trained well and I'm proud of him. It's weird, I don't usually feel proud of people, maybe because I trained him and I'm kind of the reason he's where he is today.

Drake: You can go tell her to go home. Saeko, are you going to train him soon?
Saeko: Yeah, I just want to take a quick look at a couple of things on the computer.

I'm going back to the computer and Drake's plans. Even if we plan to rob banks, we still have to keep recruiting and therefore find people in the population who also have power. The most difficult part of all this will be to make sure they have a reason to join us.

If Ray gets stronger and can keep more people under his control longer, it would be more convenient, but this kid still needs a lot of practice before he can be more versatile with his powers.

I turn to Ray who blushes as he looks away. I smile a little, what could he be thinking about? Anyway, I get up and he looks at me.

Saeko: Go and train outside, like you are already dressed. I'll throw things at you and you have to duck.
Ray: Er, OK.

He seems a little disturbed by what I just said.

Saeko: Come on! Chop-chop!

I'm going to head for the exit and put on my jacket, so I don't have to wear a tank top when it's chilly outside. He follows me, I can feel his concern.

Saeko: Don't worry, I won't throw big things at you, and I'll take it easy because you're a coward.
Ray: Stop calling me that, you know it's not true.
Saeko: Then stand up straight with your shoulders up and your chin at 90 degrees!

I can hear him sigh. He follows me to a place where there were empty cardboard boxes and stuff like that. I turn to him, he stops moving and looks at me.

Ray: What?
Saeko: En garde.

I'm going to take a box, not too big, just normal size and throw it to him. He shifts to the right and watches it go by. He turns his head towards me that I had already thrown another one and he takes it in the stomach.

Ray: Oh, what are you doing?
Saeko: You have to dodge! Don't watch them pass!
Ray: Seriously! Straight like that?

I don't answer and take a box to throw to him, he ducks to the left. I take two and throw them in his face. He shifts and punches the other one.

Saeko: Ray! You have to dodge them! Not hit them!
Ray: You throw two at me like that! What should I do?
Saeko: You have to bend over! Come on!

I take a box and throw it to him, I keep throwing it to him and I'm almost out of boxes. I move quickly over the pile of boxes behind him and throw one to him before he gets a visual on me. He takes it in the back. I'm kidding a little bit.

Ray: Ow! That's enough!
Saeko: You can get projectiles everywhere! You have to be on your guard.
Ray: I know that...

I throw him another one and he dodges it. I throw three at intervals of a few seconds and he dodges all three.

Saeko: A little better! There you go! I am forcing you to get used to the tricks quickly!
Ray: Yeah...

He dodges a box I just threw and takes one to throw to me, I grab it and throw it back to him.

Saeko: We're not playing ball here!
Ray: At least it doesn't pinch like a ball.
Saeko: I'll go and get it next time I go into town then!
Ray: Oh shit...

I'm just kidding, I have fun throwing things at him. After a little less than an hour, he becomes faster at dodging and his reflexes seem to be better too. Plus the boxes are starting to get damaged from being thrown and hitting the ground. I clap my hands.

Saeko: Good! That's enough for today!
Ray: Anyway...

He was sweaty. I'm waving him home.

Saeko: Come on, go wash up! You stink! And tomorrow is bank robbery, so be fit!
Ray: Oh! Cool!
Saeko: Come on!

Ray goes in, I watch him go in and I go in after him. I hope he can handle it and his power doesn't give me shit.
