Two weeks later, a sensor detects a car approaching our village. I couldn't go out because I was working on my arm, some materials had deteriorated since the time. I'm sending a message to Sam to see who was reporting to us.
The car arrives and parks next to the vans we had. Sam approaches while remaining on his guard. Others come to see what is happening, like Louann, Kémyanne and Bailey. A man gets out of the car, tall, bald and a little chubby. He wore sunglasses and clothes in Abaltia's style. Sam looks at the man.
Sam: Can I help you? Did you get lost?
Man: Not at all, I think I'm in the right place, my nephew sent me the address.
Sam: And who is your nephew?
Man: Théo, Théo Magodil.
Sam: Théo? And your name is?
James: I'm James Magodil.
Sam: All right, I'll go get him.
I'm going out of my house and go see the man.
Wamien: Hi, I'm Wamien Mata, I'm the head of The Guild.
James: Nice to meet you Wamien.
Wamien: What brings you here?
James: I came to get my nephew, when I knew where he was, I decided to come and get him.
Wamien: I understand, your nephew is?
Théo: My uncle? What are you doing here?
I turn around, Théo was surprised to see him come in.
James: Well, you sent me the address, so. I'm here to pick you up and take you home to your parents.
Théo: What? No way! When did I send you the address?
James: A little over two years ago I think I was on a business trip to the continent of Vactil.
Théo: Things have changed in two years, Uncle.
James: I can see it, you've surrounded yourself with people who have powers.
I turn to James, since when do civilians know about the New Humans? Unless...
James: You know you're not the only one in the family with powers?
Théo: You got any?
James: Yes, your father, your little brother and myself.
He points his hand upwards and a sort of purple circle emerges a little above his hand. I look at the phenomenon, impressed.
Wamien: And what makes your power special?
James: It's none of your business.
He closes his hand, letting the circle dissipate.
Théo: I won't go with you, I want to stay with my friends.
James: You want me to give the location of your friends to the police? They'll be happy to put you all in jail.
Théo: You have no right to do this!
James: Nothing to do, you come with me, period!
Wamien: Look, James, Theo is safe here and with us he can train to better control his power to help those who don't.
James: You fake human, make me a coffee or something, canning machine.
I'm getting angry, I wouldn't be insulted by that man.
Wamien: Listen to me now, you have no right to show up here and disrespect the owners of his premises. You have no idea who we are or what our purpose is. The fact that I have implants does not mean that I am a robot and that I am at your service. Then you will calm down and do it immediately!
James looks at me with big eyes, he seems surprised at my reaction. Théo comes to stand in front of me.
Théo: Relax Wamien, I'm sure he didn't mean it, let's just say my uncle is... impulsive.
Wamien: But that's not a way to talk to people.
Théo: I'm going to leave with my uncle, it'll be good to see my family again and explain everything that's happened since I was kidnapped by the Black Eagles.
Wamien: All right, but just so you know, you're welcome here.
Théo: Thank you Wamien.
He gives me a head salute and goes back to see his uncle.
Théo: James, I'll come with you, I just have to pack before I go.
James: Hurry up, I don't want to stay here too long.
Théo's heading home. James goes back to his car and makes a phone call. I concentrate on the device and can hear what it says.
James: Yeah, Yanna, put Klein on, please.
Yanna: He cuts wood, what's wrong?
James: I'm taking Theo home, I found where he was.
Yanna: Oh, my little boy, where is he?
James: With freaks with powers.
Yanna: How far is it?
James: A few hours drive, we should be there tomorrow.
Yanna: Okay, I'll tell Klein that.
James: All right, I'm hanging up, the crazy robot is staring at me funny.
He hangs up, so I get disconnected from the call. I stay focused on the phone and find Théo's parents' names and locations. I turn to Théo who comes to me. He seems sad.
Théo: Well, I'll try to get back as soon as I can.
Wamien: Take your time and protect your family.
Théo: I promise.
Théo leaves to join his uncle in the car and puts his luggage in the suitcase before going to settle down on the passenger side. I watch them go and sigh.
Wamien: Well, I'm really trying to make sure everything's gonna be okay on their end.
